Welcome
NYON has a strategic role, working to support, promote and develop the capacity of its members to delivery high quality services to young people. In practice, this means that NYON will provide the following services:
Information
NYON produces a ebulletin, for the most recent ebulletin follow this link, which provides a source of high quality, timely information on issues affecting the voluntary youth and community sector.
Advice
If there is something you need to know relating to work with young people, whether it is about funding, training, practice or policy contact NYON and if we can't answer the question ourselves, we will point you in the right direction.
Peer Support
Whether you are working on a new project and need some support from someone who has done something similar before, or you want to set up a group to share ideas and best practice on a particular aspect of work with young people, NYON is committed to developing peer support networks for the sector and we will help you to make new contacts.
Training
NYON delivers a range of training courses, contact us regarding what courses are currently being offered and if we are not running it we will be sure to put you in touch with a provider. At a strategic level, NYON will seek to work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure that organisations across the voluntary youth sector can access the high quality training and support that they require.
Involvement and Accountability
NYON seeks to be a ‘gateway’ for information, consultation, and involvement between the voluntary youth sector in Nottinghamshire and statutory agencies. NYON also works to ensure appropriate voluntary youth sector involvement in initiatives involving the wider voluntary sector such as local strategic partnerships and community networks.
NYON works to raise the profile of the voluntary youth and community sector in Nottinghamshire to celebrate its strengths and to ensure that its members have the opportunity to influence decisions at regional and national level, as well as locally.
